Without knowledge,
experience, and special tools, you
or your local mechanic may bend
your rear hub flanges or destroy
other components if you try to
rebuild your own hubs or try to
use a local shop without experience of this work. A hub with a bent drive
flange is worthless, so you throw it away and pay the core charge. Rear

always use Timken bearings, better seals, new lock tabs, new wheel studs,

As the cars get older, used components for rebuilding, known as "cores" in
the parts trade, will become a difficult problem, and it is often necessary for
several core units to be torn down to find the parts required to build one high-
quality component. If you have old units lying around, please approach our
company to see if you can turn them into cash. Selling cores to TRF will insure
that they are recycled and put to good use rather than left to rust away or to be
eventually discarded as trash or as scrap metal. Many enthusiasts have numbers
of core units they are never likely to use. Clubs can pool their cores together
and arrange to sell to The Roadster Factory in a batch to save shipping charges.
Arranging delivery of core units to The Roadster Factory is often a big problem,
as shipping charges, these days, can be higher than the value of the core units. If
you have numbers of core units in stock, please speak with Dave Hagenbuch in
TRF Sales to discuss the possibilities. If you care about the future availability of
major units, then this is an important issue for you to think about.
