CARB BODY REBUSHING
If your carbs are leaking air around the throttle shaft seals, this is one reason
why your engine would be hard to tune. You can check this easily by warming
the car up and letting it idle. If you spray some carb cleaner on the ends of the
throttle shafts where they pass through the carb bodies and the engine speeds up,
this means that your carbs are "sucking air" around the throttle shafts. Carbs
must be carefully rebushed, as the bushes must align so that the shafts pass
smoothly through both bushes without binding. This is specialized work, and
C.A.R. Components is experienced in this work, and C.A.R. maintains stocks
of correct components, including new throttle shafts correct bushes.
