Please Note:
Lucas Model 16ACR alternators were fitted to
non-U.S. cars from comm. no. CR1 apparently up through the
end of production. The alternators which were fitted officially are
listed below, but individual cars may have been fitted with other
18ACR alternators. If it is possible, you should start by
determining the original Lucas part number of an alternator
needing repair. The Lucas part number is found on an
aluminium tag fixed to the body of the alternator next to the
plastic rear cover, but these tags are often removed from rebuilt
alternators. If the alternator in hand has a different part number
from those listed below of if you are unable to determine the
part number, call The Roadster Factory for assistance. The best
course of action for most individual enthusiasts is to fit a rebuilt
alternator of the correct specification for the model and year of
the car.
