By the way, wood rimmed steering wheels always bring an image to my mind. When I was in
college, one of my friends, named Steve Garrity, affectionately known as "Vul-Garrity," drove an early
MGB fitted with a wood rimmed wheel. One Sunday, he dropped me at my parents' farm, and I can
remember watching him as he held the car on the curves, turning the wood-rimmed wheel and wearing
those old leather driving gloves with the vent holes and the wrist strap. It was another three years until I
had a sports car of my own...
