Does anyone have an original fibreboard gearbox cover in his or her car
anymore? I hope so because it is a part of history. There were some ill-fitting
fibreglass covers sold over the years too, and one major vendor is still selling a
terribly ugly fibreglass replacement that looks as if it is made in someone's back
yard, using leftover pink home insulation.
All of the gearbox covers listed here fit well and add stiffness to the body shell,
impossible to achieve with the original fibreboard products. Another advantage of

Original fibreboard glove boxes fell apart if you had to
remove them from the car, and new ones were quite
expensive when they were available which was more than
fifteen years ago. That is all right, as TRF's plastic glove
box replacement is much better. It is a cleaner material,
and as it is the same plastic from which industrial hard hats
is made, it is much more secure than cardboard. And, it can be installed and
removed any number of times without falling apart. Precision made product fits
