The Roadster Factory Summer Party, 2007 will differ from previous
events at The Roadster Factory. Because of the proximity in time to the
national convention of The Vintage Triumph Register and the proximity
in distance to British Car Day in Pittsburgh and the Pittsburgh Vintage
Grand Prix, Summer Party will be a social event and a center for
attending other events, and it will include fewer competition driving
events this year. Summer Party, 2007 will include two major events of
its own, a picnic and movie for all participants at a vintage drive-in
movie theatre on Saturday night and a participants' choice car show on
Philadelphia Street in Indiana, Pennsylvania on Sunday. Planning also
includes many smaller events, some being alternatives for those not
attending British Car Day on Saturday.
Tech seminars, poker rallyes, parts sales, and other smaller events
will be included to provide everyone with plenty of things to do. Our
own English pub, The Coventry Inn will be open for dining throughout
the weekend. Dash plaques are included in the registration fee, and
T-shirts will be available at a nominal price. A new logo T-shirt will be
provided for free to all members of The Coventry Motoring & Aviation
Society. Inexpensive camping with rough facilities and motor home
space will be available on TRF grounds from Thursday afternoon, July
12th through Tuesday afternoon, July 17th, and we hope to organize a
caravan for traveling from The Roadster Factory to the VTR convention
in Valley Forge on Monday or Tuesday.
The Roadster Factory will make an excellent stopping place for
many Triumph enthusiasts traveling to the VTR event in Valley Forge,
and Summer Party will provide an excellent opportunity for enthusiasts
to attend British Car Day and The Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix in
Schenley Park. British Car Day in Pittsburgh is held in conjunction with
The Grand Prix, one of the few vintage races run on actual city streets.
British Car Day has evolved into one of the finest one-day British car
shows in America, and qualifying heats for the grand prix are run
throughout the day on the race track adjacent to the car show.
