ACCELERATOR PEDAL SHAFT BUSHES FOR TRIUMPH
"Improve Your Accelerator Control by Removing Free Play from Worn
Bushes..."
The accelerator pedal shafts of all Triumph models except TR7 and TR8 turn in nylon bushes
fitted into the bulkheads of the cars.  TR2 through TR4A used robust bushes fitted into bearing
housings screwed to the bulkhead, while TR250, TR6, Spitfire, and GT6 models originally had
flimsy plastic bushes simply pressed into holes in the bulkhead to hold the accelerator cross-shaft.
These deteriorated quickly, leaving a large amount of free play.  By the late TR6, Triumph had
improved the specification of the material used for these bushes considerably, and the ones currently
stocked by The Roadster Factory last a long time.
